About us

Having grown up in a small village on the west coast of Scotland, Martin started his career in the construction industry in 1988 as a labourer for a small building company. A year and a half later he started his apprenticeship as a bricklayer at Inverness College, where he was selected to compete in the Scottish bricklaying championships.

After working on the west coast for a number of years he moved to Inverness with his wife Mairi, and later employed his first apprentice (who won top bricklayer at Inverness College).

He started Martin Matheson Builders in 1999 doing more private work, building a reputation as an honest, reliable builder with an eye for design. In April 2005 the company became Matheson Builders Ltd, and now employs a team of six full timers who are professional, skilled, hard working and friendly.
